The host file will not change unless you save over it. when the info is pasted into the notepad, and you save it, you are only saving the text file. You need to save the word prompt as the host file, with the appropriate tail. i know it's not the right word, but I mean like ".wav" or ".bat" . It isn't any of those, of course. It isn't a standalone file though. it uses another program to run it. To find the host file, open "my computer", Click on local disk, then "windows", "system 32", "drivers", and then "etc". The host file should appear. I'm sorry, but I still have trouble starting the loader interceptor.

There was an error writing your HOSTS file.
Please contact NEXTPIMP Beta Support and reference this error"

System.UnauthorizedAcessException: Acess to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts' is denied.

at system.IO._Error.WinIOError(Int32errorCode, String str)
at system.IO.File.Delete(String path)
at HTTPS.Form1.Start()

If anyone can help me please answer at ranger5-2@verizon.net. Sorry Infernorecords, but that is all I know for now. Thanx if you just read this.

If your not authorized to write to the host file then you need to contact your system administrator and have them either make the changes for you or give you administrative access on the computer your changing the host file for.

I am the sytem admin. I am having the same problem as everyone else. If you mean something beside what I'm saying, please explain. I'm not computer illiterate. I actually like to program. Give me instructions, and I should be able to pull it off.

ok.. if your a programer/system admin and you dont know what "Acess to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts' is denied" I am confused myself.

can you tell me what the permissions are on the file? is it read only? what trouble shooting have you done?

Most of the programs i have made, have been in batch or truebasic. I did a little work in visual basic too. What I'm saying is, I'm not STUPID. I understand the concept of my computer. I honestly haven't done much troubleshooting with files like this. All the files I have troubleshooted, I knew how to edit them. The file is "read-only". I'm not trying to gloat or be an 4$$, so please do so yourself. All I want is a simple answer to the error. I have been through these forums for over a week, and still have very little to show for it. Be the difference and solve this problem, then you can insult me.

I am now legally authorized to use the WebJAL application. All I need to do now is connect to my phone.
