If when you open webjal you get a "unable to authenticate with the server" do this
1. Select Start
2. Select Run
3. Type in %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\etc\
3.5. Select Ok
4. Double click "hosts" (no extention, just hosts)
5. Open it up in notepad
5.5. Remove any lines that contain idenupate.motorola.com (the entire line)
6. On the last line add
216.19.0.250 idenupdate.motorola.com
7. Select File
8. Select Save
9. Select File
10. Select Exit
11. Open Internet Explorer
12. go to this site
https://idenupdate.motorola.com
13. If you did the above steps correctly, you will see
1999valid11
14. Double click the lock in the bottom right corner of the Internet Explorer window
15. Select "Install Ceritificate"
16. Select Next, Next, Finish, Ok
17. Select Start
18. Select Run
19. Type in "regedit"
19.5. Select Ok
20. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
21. Expand Software
22. Expand Motorola
23. Select WebJAL
24. Double click "SITE_URL"
25. Put the following URL in the EDITABLE text box
https://idenupdate.motorola.com/webjal010102/index.cgi
26. Select Ok
27. Exit Registry Editor
28. Run WebJAL
29. Select Login
30. Leave box blank
31. Select Ok
32. Your Done.
DO NOT TELL ME THAT THIS DOESNT WORK. i went to open my webjal today and i did that fix and it works.
ALL THREADS REGARDING HOW TO FIX WEBJAL B/C IM GETTING A UNABLE TO AUTHENTICATE WITH THE SERVER ERROR WILL BE DELETED THIS IS THE FIX. IF YOU FOUND THIS BY SEARCHING GOOD FOR YOU!!!

well my problem is the downloading part. When I try to download the ringtone to my phone an error pops up that says "Ageneral communication error hasoccured while communicating to the phone." What should I do? cuz u seem like u know a lot about webjal.

THIS HAS BEEN ANSWERED BEFORE, it means the ringtone is in the wrong format or it is too long. please search next time.

hey done moose this is a general computer problem but when i go to to regedit or like contral-alt-delete when my mouse gos on it the program goeas awway
u no how to fix it?

sometimes you dont have to continue all the way to the end, but if u continue it will work no matter what

people ask same questions with out doint some searching first thats why he sad what he sad. you are not the first one with that error problem. and the answeres to it are posted all over the site. so please search next time before you post.

it dident do the 1999valid11 thing instead all it did was stay blank and wen i double clicked on the lock it said this cirtificate not avialible or something like that reason being is because i had 2 lines that had idenwebjal and a few numbers in front so i deleted them both and then wen i put the one u told me to put and i did save all this stuff happened is there a posible way u guys can help me please!!!

is there anyone atleast that can help me or give me what there notpad thingy says so i can just copy it into mine or w.e because now i cant even uninstall webjal to re download it it wont let me at least some1 out there please

Ok Don Moose. I found your fix on here but I have a dumb question. You say select start then select run. I don't know what I'm selecting start from. I can right click on the webjal icon and select "run as" and then there is a space in user name so I typed in your #3 and hit ok but it says user name is not valid so I don't think I'm in the right place. Where do I select start to begin with? I have to click on my webjal icon to get it started and that's when my error comes up.

I know I know...I figured it out. Blonde moment- so sorry!! But anyway I did it step by step and it didn't work. I know you said to not say it doesn't work but it really didn't. I even went back and did it a second time step by step and my computer is still giving me the same message. I had also reinstalled Webjal earlier like someone else suggested. It still says "the application was unable to retrieve required information from the server". I was on webjal earlier and had just finished downloading a ringtone when webjal just logged me off and now I haven't been able to get back on because of this message. Any other suggestions??

restart your computer, i''ll check the tutorial now and follow it so i can tell u if it works, but if not u gotta get my jal or use the NPMC interceptor or something

I had restarted but that didn't help. Later on I decided to reinstall the the webjal patcher and then it worked! I'm hoping I'm good to go now. Thanks for all the help.

I have webjal and when loading ringtones it wants it as a midi file. Someone mentioned that I have an old version of webjal and that I should d/l a new version so when I do ringtones it should say wav format. My question is this true or is someone pulling my leg? Thanks

i did everything but now when i go to log in it says failed to authenticate with the server...wtf is up wit webjal? can any1 help meee
