I hate to ask a dumb question but I need to make sure...If you don't have a data acces plan with Nextel, and you use webjal to download ringtones, games, wallpapers to your phone...does Nextel charge you? I'm not sure how webjal works or why it has to be connected to the internet for it to do so. Obviously, I don't have a data acces plan and I just want to make sure if I use this I won't be charged by Nextel. I'm sorry to ask a dumb question. Any help is greatly appreciated.

yea i have webjal and every time it finshest downloading this popup show up and its saids A general commuincation error occured while commuincating to the phone. Please the connection between the computer, phone and cable as well as your preference settings. In the middle of the download it says something about it not being signed with WIndows XP.. or whatever and continuing the download may cause the system to lock or virus' to get in... did any1 else get this message?

it does say its not verified. i've gotten this too.
as for the whole system to lock or virus to get in... i've never seen that in the message.

but yeah, you just accept it, and it runs.

as for runtime error 62, try any of the other runtime error issues. Try re-downloading the patch. If not, just try re-installing or searching around

go to preferences and enable the usb connection. im assuming you have the drivers installed.

Just my 2 cents, but as for the format when uploading the ringtones, Windows PCM (*.wav) is the format that works best for me. Hope this helps someone... :D

Hi guys. Noob here. Before I ask my question and you tell me to SEARCH...well, I did. I'm just not finding it.

I have 2 computer systems running at once. I mainly do all my downloading on one of them and games on the other.
I'm getting different errors on both of them, so I'll label them PC1 and PC2.

On both PC1 and PC2, I did all the steps on making sure that I can connect to the server. BTW, awesome instructions! Thank you very much.

Here's what I get:
PC1, I get an error message saying "The Application was unable to retrieve the required phone information". then the program shuts down. It won't even start up. I can't get past the red stop sign.

PC2, I am able to start the program do everything, but when it comes to downloading to the phone, I get an error message saying "A general communication error occured while communicating with the phone. Please verify the connection between the computer, phone and cable, as well as your prefference settings. In addition, you may try setting the phone Baud Rate to 19200"

power cycle the phone (leave it connected and turn it off then back on) if that doesnt work, do i hard restart (pull the battery when your phone is ON)

for person 1, read the first post, it says how to remove the error. You need to patch it.
for person 2, if u know its probably asked a million times, why didn't you search? Try searching and patch it.

Okay so I read through most of the Webjal guides section and found the answers to most of my problems. Heres one I didn't see though (may have missed it)

I got the latest webjal with the latest patch and USB drivers. I'm using an I860 and it connects and works fine for downloading pics and appa but when I download a ringtone (from this site so I know the ringtone should be configured right) I get that general communications error. I disconnected and restarted my phone closed all my applications on the PC and started just webjal and reconnected and retried and got the same problem. Is there a reason why I can download everything except ringtones?

Okay so I read through most of the Webjal guides section and found the answers to most of my problems. Heres one I didn't see though (may have missed it)

I got the latest webjal with the latest patch and USB drivers. I'm using an I860 and it connects and works fine for downloading pics and appa but when I download a ringtone (from this site so I know the ringtone should be configured right) I get that general communications error. I disconnected and restarted my phone closed all my applications on the PC and started just webjal and reconnected and retried and got the same problem. Is there a reason why I can download everything except ringtones?

well i read all the fixes did them all just incase and redownloaded the program for the 3rd time made sure i followed the directions right and i still have a problem connecting.. It says establishin connection and then i can hear the 2 beeps that the computer notices the data cable and then it says please wait.. forever and i cant close it and have to end task to close it.. anyone have the same problems?

:) Ok guys I have had my i860 for about five months. My son and wife have the same phone and my son thinks that ring tone orders from nextel are FREEEEE!!!! So i have been looking all over the net for about 3 weeks and this morning I ran across "Yous Guys" Most every site I found says pay here go here or send this. NextPimp just said read and read and read and read some more. So I have been reading all day. Printing instructions and reading some more. I downloaded all the recommended software, drivers patches and so on. I flollowed the written instructions that I found in the Guides Forums (This here Forum) and did exactly as instructed or guided. The software installed first time ( I almost didn't see the restart and patch install before starting WebJAL instruction) The download for Cool Edit would not install or start after I downloaded it so I went to the DL.com site and DLed the trial version. (More reading once inside the program) And after an entire day of instructions and reading and searching and and and...It fracking worked first time right out of the box so to speak. You guys are bloody bleepin great!!! I just finished sitting my son down and learning him how to create a ringtone and how to upload it to his own phone at acost savings of around $46.00 bucks a month. Thank You. As I read through all the docs and posts today I was sure that I would have problems attempting this on my own, but!! Da moose kept saying to look and read. I am here to tell ya that all the instructions are in this thread and if you follow the moose to the water he can actually get you to drink. Thanks again, next week I have to learn how to do wallpaper as my wife watched over my shoulder she has decieded that she wants different pics that don't come from the camera pics that she taks. a....pics won't be any harder than ring tones will they? and wallpapers are easier then ringtones.
just get irfanview and resize to correct settings under wallpaper forums.

irfanview is free from alot of sites, including download.com i believe.

I think I searched through everything and still dont see the question I need answered. I was able to get the program running after a few weeks of trying. Not when I leave the login and pass blank it has a iDEN Web Java Application Loader that says " Failed to authenticate with the server". Then it says I cant connect to my phone unless Im signed in. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a patch for webjal. Goto www.harrythompson.com you should find the patch.

You didn't pay for webjal you paid for a nextpimp premium membership. With the membership your able to download the nextpimp media center. Webjal on the other hand is the program you use to download the ringtones to the phone. That program is free go to www.harrythompson.com for the download, while your there get the download for the usb driver. Then go to downloads section of nextpimp and download the mediacenter.
