A generial communication error occured while communicating to the phone. Please verify the connection between the computer, phone and cable as well as preference settings. In addition, you may try setting the phone baud rate to 19200.

Although I am new to all of this (including threads, replies, posts, etc.), I too tried to load ringtones as well as several wallpapers. I also got the same error message that bonefanatic got for both wallpapers and ringtones. I followed ALL instructions to the letter (even printed them) from http://www.harrythompson.com/webjal.htm. I either used GIF's, or converted other files to GIF using IrfanView (which by the way works seamlessly) for the wallpaper, and made sure that ringtones were MIDI. I made sure to thoughroughly read and re-read the instructions and follow them. WebJal starts up, signs onto the web (I have it configured to sign on at start-up), connects to either of my phones (i850 or i836), and even apparently loads the wallpaper or ringtone (it shows a progress indicator bar which runs to completion). When the download COMPLETES, it is then that it gives me the same error message that bonefanatic got. What should I do?
Please take it easy on me since this is my first time in ANY forum. I did read the rules - just before writing this;).

I just fool around with it until it works. Either exit and try again, reinstall your usb driver, etc.
