Customer Rating: Summary: Not all it's hyped up to be Comment: So, I got this headset after reading the good reviews. Boy, was I disappointed. The headset charged up quickly, looked nice, felt comfortable, and was easy to hook up to my phone - but only worked well for the first 10 minutes after charging. Beyond that, the quality declined steeply and those I was talking to complained.
I returned the headset.
Customer Rating: Summary: Too sensitive: amplifies every background noise Comment: I bought this because of the supposed "noise reduction" and/or 'noise cancellation" features.
What the ad should have said is "background noise enhancement feature".
The headset does a good job of cancelling background noises on MY end so that I can't hear them. It does exactly the opposite for the person I'm talking to; instead, it picks up every noise and sends it to the other party.
When I'm using this headset, people I talk to often complain that they can't understand me, due to background noises. In some cases, I have to turn off the H710 and use the cellphone itself, at which point people invariably say that it sounds much clearer. Any noise in the vicinity gets equal weight with my voice. This can't be used outside if there's wind or even a light breeze because the other party won't be able to understand much of what is said. If there's an air conditioner running, the headset will broadcast it loud and clear to the other end. A television gets equal billing with what I'm saying. Any noise at all will be picked up and sent to the other person.
The battery life of the H710 is good, and the headset does turn on and off easily. But the background noise amplification is self-defeating, and for that reason, I can't recommend this headset.
Customer Rating: Summary: Motorola H710 Bluetooth Headset Comment: 4 of 5 stars, not sure this is the perfect BT headset. The first one had a bad battery, wouldn't hold a charge, Amazon did a quick replacement. Second is working great, light, much louder than the older Motorola units. I have to turn the volume down a little, the old unit was maxed out and still hard to here people at times. This uses the new Micro USB connect, they should have kept the Mini as it would have fit the case and people with chargers would not need to buy an adapter. All over I think the unit is a nice upgrade and if you own an older Motorola it is worth the price to get a lighter, louder unit. The status light color for charge left is also a nice touch and it is easier to pair with our Bluetooth phone or other device.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great headset Comment: It's a great headset, I'm glad I bought it. Wonderful sound quality, volume, battery life, I can walk all around my apartment and no static. My only complaint is that it's a little big and I feel like it could fall off my ear. I recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: LOVE THIS PRODUCT! Comment: I had bought a lower end Motorola head set from Amazon thinking I didn't need anything fancy; just to comply with the new hands-free law in California. Well, with the first Bluetooth I bought, I could not hear the speaker and they could not hear me. I was told I sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. So I got back on Amazon and really researched the products this time, realizing I was going to have to pay a little more and get a really good quality head set. This one kept coming up as the one to get for ear volume and reduced outside noise. Amazon accepted my return on the first head set, and I bought this one. I LOVE IT. Another nice feature is that to turn it on and off, you just open and close it. You don't have to worry about holding the button down the right amount of time and not accidently calling your last call. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
